Paris based collective Chevry Agency step into the world of production with their new label project. Chevry Records aims to showcase the depths of talent within the booking agency, touching on a variety of club-ready cuts.

The first releases comes in the form of a 13-track compilation titled ‘The Great Meeting’. Introducing the label’s aesthetic, tracks feature from the likes of THEOSBaccusVitessFasmeDJ SteawHerr Krank and Deborah Aime La Bagarre setting the scene for the new label venture.

Prolific producer and Outright Records affiliate Vitess contributes a sleek and lively cut in this premiere. The Frenchman can be seen playing frequent across Europe with the likes of Ferro and Janaret, hypnotising crowds with his electric live set.

‘Fun Fact’ brings a nostalgic banger in this premiere. Classic ravey synth pads sing in unison with a lush, laid back bassline loading the track with energy. Inspired by a playful, video-game-esque motive, melodies are adventurous and intriguing, meandering down colourful sequences and dreamy soundscapes.

Percussion is crisp and powerful, loading a firm 909 kick drum beneath an 80s inspired snare cutting through the mix with buckets of attitude. You can picture the likes of Slow Life or Dyed Soundorom rocking a peak time dance floor with this crafty weapon.

Music explore a vast variety of eras, moods and energies throughout the 13-tracks. From the ravey acid-house flavours from Fasme, Jeff The Fool’s disco-tinged house music, or the slippery organ joy of ILeys, the versatility and depth packed into this debut curation is a charming feat.

A universal shade of hope ripples throughout the curation, whether it’s embedded into the more lively motives in Debroah Aime La Bagarre’s piano-house banger, or more subtle layers in the featherweight pads and lush atmosphere’s of Gunnter’s ‘I Want’, it’s evident each producer is aligned with the uplifting vision of the project.

The French crew host regular events across the capital, showcasing the talent and depth within the agency roster. Occasionally Vitess will DJ all night long, or play with fellow selector DJ Steaw, with the occasion live-show display alongside fellow French live wizards Oden & Fatzo. Vitess will play live on June 17th as Chevry take over the infamous Rex Club with live sets from Oten & Fatzo, as well as a hybrid live set from THEOS.
